TuJu and MyJalan

TuJu is the tolled-highway piece of the Works Ministry's MyJalan app. You can pass a report about road damage through that link. It is not the channel for a vehicle on fire.

How the apps connect

At the launch, the Works Minister described TuJu as the tolled-highway sub-sector of MyJalan, the Works Ministry's road app. The link lets a driver pass a report across, and it lets the two systems share information. He also said the combined data helps operators see traffic patterns and high-risk locations, and plan a response faster. That is an operations story as much as a driver story.

You do not need to understand the analytics to use the link. You do need to know which problems belong in it. TuJu's product page gives examples: road damage, traffic-signal faults, and other defects. The report is a message to the people who maintain the road.

What to report

A pothole, a broken guardrail, a dark stretch where the lights have failed, a signal stuck on a ramp, a flooded shoulder you have already driven past safely. Send it when you are parked. Include the highway, the direction, and the nearest marker if you have it. A report without a place is a complaint nobody can dispatch.

Android 2.0's accident and roadblock notes are a different feature. Those are the app telling you about a problem. MyJalan is you telling the operator about a defect. Do not assume that filing a MyJalan report also warns the drivers behind you. It might feed a later update. It is not a live hazard pin you should count on for the next five minutes.

What not to report there

A crash with injuries, a fire, a car stopped in a running lane, or a medical emergency does not go to MyJalan first. Call 999, then the concessionaire through TuJu's SOS or the published hotline. A web form cannot send an ambulance.

If you are unsure, call. The worst outcome of a careful 999 call is a short conversation. The worst outcome of a report filed from the fast lane is a second crash. The order of calls is on the emergency page.
