Update TuJu and set location
A surge is when the useful build is the one you do not have yet. Update from the official store, then set location to the smallest permission that still lets the route move.
Why the version matters
TuJu's October 2026 problem was two problems at once. The servers struggled after a surge of new users, and the navigation itself drew public complaints: vague prompts, a straight line instead of a route, and in one report raw HTML where a sentence should have been. An update is how a patch reaches your phone. It is not a guarantee that today's build has fixed the junction you care about. It is the only official way to stop running last month's bugs.
Android and iPhone are not on the same build. LLM said on 22 October 2026 that version 2.0 was out for Android, while the iPhone release was still in App Store testing. One briefing, reported by The Edge, put the iPhone build at the end of October. Malay Mail's account said by year-end. Read the version on your store page. If the iPhone still shows 1.5.x, you do not have accident notes, the parked-car pin, or the other 2.0 items, no matter what an Android screenshot shows.
A Play tracker listed Android 2.0.4, updated 3 August 2026, at about 40 MB. Trackers lag a surge. The Play page on the handset is the version that will install.
Update on Android
- Open Google Play. Do not follow a search ad to a file site. The package is
tuju.my, and the developer line should name Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia and Prosignal Consortium. - If Play offers an update, install it on Wi-Fi if you can. The app is about 40 MB before you add map use.
- Open TuJu only after the update finishes. If it asks you to sign in, do that while parked. The login page covers Google, Apple and email, and the loops people hit during the surge.
- Read the version in the store again after a festive morning. A second patch often follows the first outage.
If someone sent you an APK, delete it and install from Play. The reasons are on the APK page. This site does not host a file.
Update on iPhone
Open the App Store listing for TuJu, id 6463124230, provider Prosignal Consortium Sdn Bhd. The listing requires iOS 16.6 or later and is for iPhone. Install the update, then read the version history. As captured in October 2026, that history still showed 1.5.5 on 25 November 2025 as a crash and performance fix, and 1.5.4 on 4 November 2025 as a fix for crashes and login. Those notes are maintenance. They are not the 2.0 feature list.
If the App Store has no update waiting, you are on whatever build Apple is currently serving. Forcing a reinstall will not conjure an iPhone 2.0 that the store has not released. Check again later in the month rather than sideloading a description you saw on Android.
Location permissions
Navigation needs a precise fix while you are driving. It does not, for that purpose, need a trail all night. The App Store listing warns that TuJu may use your location even when it is not open, and that this drains the battery. On iPhone, the control is Settings, then TuJu, then Location. While Using the App is the setting that covers a trip. Always is the setting that matches the warning about a closed app. If you do not want a background trail, do not leave it on Always. Check again after the first prompt, because it is easy to tap through.
On Android the path is Settings, then Apps, then TuJu, then Permissions, then Location. Allow only while the app is in use if that option is offered. Precise location should be on for the drive and is the first thing to check if the dot sits in the wrong place. Tunnels, toll canopies and stacked roads will still slide the dot for a few seconds. Give it time after you exit a tunnel before you obey a sudden U-turn.
The stores also say the app may collect and share location, which is a different question from the permission toggle. The data page puts the authority's "we supply traffic, we do not collect users" line next to the store disclosures. Read both. The toggle only controls the phone.
After a trip
If you do not want location running until the next drive, set it back when you park. Uninstalling removes the app. It does not by itself prove a server forgot the account. The Play listing has said you can request deletion. Use the in-app tools if they exist, and write to feedback@prosignalconsortium.my, the address LLM published on 22 October 2026.
If the new build still shows HTML, a straight line, or only "keep straight" at a stack, that is a report worth sending, with the version number and a screenshot taken while parked. Updating was the first step. It is not the last word on whether the junction is fixed.
