TuJu app questions
Short answers on download, login, traffic, tolls, cameras, data, and the outage reported on 22 October 2026. Longer pages sit behind the questions that need them.
Download and account
Where do I download the TuJu app?
From Google Play or the Apple App Store. The Android package on Play is tuju.my. The iPhone app is listed as TuJu, App Store id 6463124230, from Prosignal Consortium Sdn Bhd. This website does not host the install file. The official product site is tuju.my.
Is the TuJu app free?
Yes. Both store listings offer TuJu at no charge. A future in-app toll payment has been discussed by the Malaysian Highway Authority, but it was not available when officials briefed reporters on 22 October 2026. A toll shown in the app is a planning figure. You still pay at the plaza.
Is there an official TuJu APK?
The official Android install is the Google Play listing for tuju.my. This guide does not publish an APK, and the public launch statements point drivers to Play and the App Store. A file from a random APK blog can be an old build, a modified package, or malware wearing the TuJu name. If Play is missing on your phone, use the iPhone app or check tuju.my rather than a third-party mirror.
Which phones can run TuJu?
The App Store listing requires iOS 16.6 or later and is for iPhone, not a separate iPad app. The download shown there was about 39.5 MB. Android builds tracked on Play have been about 40 MB. Google Play does not publish a single minimum Android version in the public summaries we checked, so read the Play page on your phone before you install. TuJu 2.0 reached Android first. On 22 October 2026 the iPhone 2.0 build was still in testing.
Why does TuJu ask me to log in?
On the iPhone build tested in October 2026, navigation stayed closed until the driver signed in with Google, Apple, or email, or registered with an email address. Waze can route without an account. TuJu, on that test, could not. If login spins, try the other sign-in method, update the app, and write to feedback@prosignalconsortium.my if it still fails. The 1.5.4 iPhone notes already mentioned login fixes, so this screen has been fragile before.
How do I update the TuJu app?
On Android, update package tuju.my in Google Play. On iPhone, update the App Store listing, id 6463124230. Do not install an APK from a website. Android had version 2.0 as of 22 October 2026. The iPhone 2.0 build was still in testing, so an iPhone may still show the 1.5 line. Read the version on the store page after a surge, because a second patch often follows the first outage.
On the highway
Does TuJu work in Sabah and Sarawak?
The product site describes TuJu as a companion for highways in Peninsular Malaysia. Do not assume cameras, tolls, or turn-by-turn cover East Malaysia, city streets, or rural roads. Open the app and see whether your route actually draws before you depend on it.
Does TuJu show real-time traffic?
That is the point of the app. Official pages say traffic comes from the Malaysian Highway Authority, including its traffic monitoring centre, from highway operators, from checked community reports, and from roadside devices. You can also look at live CCTV at selected sites. Treat a blank map with suspicion. During the 22 October 2026 surge, an independent test reported no usable live traffic layer, while the authority was still restoring capacity.
Can I watch highway CCTV in TuJu?
Yes, at selected highway cameras, not at every kilometre. A dark or frozen picture means the feed failed. It does not mean the road is empty. Watch cameras before you move, or hand the phone to a passenger. Do not watch video while you are driving.
Does TuJu tell me the toll?
It can show a toll figure for the route, and an August 2026 Play update mentioned toll announcements along the drive. Use it to decide whether you have enough credit or cash before you join the highway. The amount charged at the booth is the one that counts. In-app toll payment was only a hope, with no launch date, as of 22 October 2026.
Does TuJu work with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay?
Not as of the 22 October 2026 test by SoyaCincau, which found neither Android Auto nor Apple CarPlay support. The same test said an iPhone prompt could pause music and leave it paused. Until a store update says otherwise, mount the phone and let a passenger handle the screen. Do not prop the phone in your hands.
How do I report a damaged road?
TuJu links to MyJalan, the Works Ministry app, so a driver can pass on a report about road damage, signal faults, and similar infrastructure problems. That link is for a defect the operator should fix. It is not the channel for a crash that is happening now. For injuries, fire, or a car stopped in a live lane, call 999 first.
What number do I call if I crash?
Call 999 for police, ambulance, or fire. TuJu's SOS button is a way to reach the highway concessionaire, which you should also do once you are out of the traffic lane. The authority's traffic information line is 1-800-88-7752. PLUS highways publish PLUSLine at 1-800-88-0000. Numbers for other concessions are on the highways page and inside the app. A phone menu is not a reason to stay in a live lane.
Does the TuJu app pay the toll for me?
No. TuJu can show a planning figure and, on recent Android notes, announce a toll along the route. You still pay at the plaza. Touch 'n Go, RFID, SmartTAG and the separate JustGO app are the payment systems. On 22 October 2026 LLM said it hoped to add in-app toll payment later, with no date and no design. JustGO is a PLUS subsidiary's app, not TuJu.
Does TuJu cover the North-South Expressway?
That is the road it was built around. LLM lists the North-South at 823 km, opened in 1994, run by PLUS, with PLUSLine at 1-800-88-0000. TuJu launched at the southbound Seremban rest area on that expressway. Coverage of a particular ramp or camera is whatever the app draws when you open the route. A missing camera is a gap, not proof the road is clear.
Can I rely on TuJu in Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley?
Treat it as a weak guide there. On 22 October 2026 SoyaCincau found prompts that only said keep straight or merge, including a case where the exit needed the far left lane. Stacked ramps are where a vague voice is dangerous. Follow the gantry. If you miss the exit, go to the next legal one and replan when you are stopped.
Does TuJu cover the East Coast Expressway?
The east coast is three roads in LLM's directory: KL-Karak (60 km) and LPT1 (174 km), both ANIH with hotline 1-700-818-700, and LPT2 (184 km) with hotline 1-800-88-0220. TuJu is a peninsular highway app, so these are in its intended world. Confirm your actual route draws in the app before you depend on it, and call 999 first if anyone is hurt.
How should I use TuJu for balik kampung or a festive weekend?
Open it the night before. Read the ETA as a floor, check the toll balance you will actually be charged, pick a rest stop and a backup, and update the app before you leave. On the morning, look at one camera, then drive the signs. If the servers fall over the way they did on 22 October 2026, the kilometre markers, the variable message signs, and PLUSLine 1-800-88-0000 are still there.
Trust, data, and this website
What data does TuJu collect?
Read two public statements side by side. A highway authority deputy director-general said TuJu is meant to supply traffic information rather than collect user data. The stores say something wider. Play's data-safety section has said the app may share location, and may collect location, personal information, and other data, encrypted in transit, with a way to request deletion. The iPhone listing warns that location may be used even when the app is closed. SoyaCincau also reported a long in-app permission notice. Accept it only after you read the live screen.
Why is the TuJu app not working?
On 22 October 2026 the Malaysian Highway Authority said TuJu was disrupted after a sharp rise in users. The rise followed the prime minister's suggestion, a day earlier, that people consider a local navigation app. The authority said it was restoring stability and capacity with Prosignal Consortium, and that it was also looking at route accuracy. Update the app, try again on Wi-Fi, then on mobile data, and allow time. If a screen shows raw code or only the words 'keep straight', do not treat that as a driving instruction. Follow the road signs.
Can TuJu replace Waze?
Not yet as your only guide through a complicated interchange, if you go by public testing in October 2026. TuJu is stronger as a highway desk: tolls, rest stops, cameras, and a concessionaire SOS on top of authority data. Waze is stronger at crowd-sourced turns, lane prompts, and Android Auto or CarPlay. Civil servants were told to stop using Waze for official duties from 20 October 2026. That is a workplace rule. It does not make a vague TuJu instruction safer than the gantry in front of you.
Who makes the TuJu app?
It is a joint effort of the Malaysian Highway Authority (Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia, LLM) and Prosignal Consortium Sdn Bhd, dating from 2022. Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi launched it on 26 November 2025 at the southbound Seremban rest area on the North-South Expressway. The App Store provider is Prosignal Consortium Sdn Bhd. The Play listing names both LLM and Prosignal.
Is tujuapp.com the official TuJu website?
No. This is an independent download and usage guide. We do not run the app, we do not see your trips, and we cannot reset your login. The operators' site is tuju.my. Install buttons on this guide open Google Play or the App Store.
What do 'tuju dari' and 'Limited' have to do with this app?
Nothing. 'Dari' is Malay for 'from', so a suggestion such as 'tuju dari' is a phrase, not a second product. Limited is the name of unrelated apps, including a Swiss deals app and a business-account product. If a search result is about coupons in Switzerland or company bank accounts, it is not the Malaysian highway app.
